WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR BODY?

We all know that it is not what we eat that matters but what we digest, so how often is your body going through this process in a day?

To keep it plain and simple: when you put food into your mouth, the relevant organs decide which is good and which is bad. The bad food goes where bad foods go, while the good food goes where the good foods go in the body.

Each time we eat, this process is repeated however and the body continues this process of filtering.

Simple as it is, this process takes a few hours to complete its cycle and then the organs that were at work take a much needed rest before any food is passed through again.

The rest process is what I want to give you thoughts to ponder about. How much time do you give before you give your organs food to work with after the last meal? (And this includes snacks and quickies and anything that goes through your mouth and you have to chew)

How often are you giving your organs and body rest from food?

Are you even giving the body any rest at all?

7am toast – 9am breakfast – 11am snack – 12.30pm lunch – 2pm biscuits – 4pm light meal – 6pm cereal bars – 8pm dinner – 10pm cakes……. Is that you? Stop doing it to your body! What you don’t know could kill you! By doing the above, you’re not giving your body any breaks in-between your meals so your engine is continuously overworked.

Imagine driving a car continuously for days, weeks and even months, without switching off the engines for a minute? Well, that is what happens if you’re fond of eating between meals.

As a rule you should leave about five hours apart between your last meal and your next meal. Can you? Can you shut the organs down by 7pm and ensure you don’t chew after 7pm? Can you eat five hours apart and just take fluids, smoothies and liquids in-between if you have to?

Remember, what you do your body is what it would eventually return to you in kind. Take care of your body, it’s the only tent you have to live in!

  1. I do agree the organs need rest and five hours since reasonable. 7am breakfast, 12:30 lunch and 6pm dinner.
However, doctors recommend eating 5 small meals, body builders have to eat 6 meals a day.

    • Tunde research is proving those recommendations wrong. Have you wondered why someone ‘builds’ and stop building and they ‘lose?’ or worse still have fatal ‘heart diseases?’ It’s not about quantity but quality several times Tunde. Doctors study very very limited nutrition in school! They know the science of the body, but nutrition is a totally different field…. (A bit like plumbing and electricity or painting and block laying) You’ll have an idea for each field, but expertise rests with the ‘expert’ Many times our doctors (they’re till the best at what they do) are merely ‘practising’ hence the term ‘general practitioner’ Several times my doctor friends have told me ‘Medicine does not necessarily have answers’ Who is responsible for your health? You….

Another I just remembered and would like to add, when I was playing professional football, we would have the meal five hours before a game and that would be it, of course we had energy drinks and water during the game, but the meal was a strict five hour rule at the time….
