IF IT MAKES SENSE BUT DOESN’T MAKE DOLLARS…..
Ever wondered why the industries talk less about Nutrients, Vitamins and minerals, but celebrate drugs and surgeries at will?
I sat down earlier on today and just Googled ‘Best way to cure illness’ and the following just showed up in my face…
Natural Cold and Flu Remedies
* Bone broth and soup. …
* Lemon juice or ginger. …
* Electrolyte drink. …
* Apple Cider Vinegar. …
* Elderberry. …
* Vitamin C. …
* Detox Baths. …
* Herbs to Help Remedy Cold and Flu. There are many herbs that support the body when healing from an illness.
Not once is a drug of any kind mentioned.
If you look at that list, it consists of most natural every day things you can access.
They say if it’s easy to find, then it’s easy to miss as well.
I remember my grandmother, and my uncles who lived with nature: they could show you a herb for almost any illness from common cold to flu, to even diseases that had no name or defied medicine.
So what happened to my genearation?
Why are we quick to run to the store and self prescribe when we have a flu? Why are we quick to call the doctor whenever we feel the slight fever or cold? Why do we think we know what it is each time we feel the change in weather?
The truth is that we have moved from the Agricultural age to the age of technology (and thank God for tech as I wouldn’t want to write a letter that takes ages to get to its destination if I can send an instant message or video call) and by so doing we moved from Socrates’ message (‘let thy Food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy Food”) to a new message of the sign of times, ‘a pill for an ill’
So why are the drugs taking over as we clamber over common sense in a bid to hurriedly ignore and forget what worked before conventional medicine?
Well, the industry’s motto is, if it makes sense but it doesn’t make money, then there is no sense in it at all.
Melody Peterson, in unknown meds says up to 100,000 Americans die yearly from prescription drugs (these are deaths from known side effects) while pharmaceutical companies get rich! The number has risen to approximately 130,000!
These deaths didn’t happen because the doctor made a mistake and prescribed the wrong drug, or the pharmacist made a mistake in filling the prescription, or the patient accidentally took too much.
Sixty-five percent of America takes a prescription drug these days. In 2005 alone, $250 billion was spent on medical
drugs alone! It’s a powerful industry!
In recent years, sales of drugs for children have been the industry’s fastest growing business. Doctors now prescribe pills to children for all kinds of conditions — from high cholesterol to anxiety. The market for ADHD drugs has long been a big opportunity for the industry. More recently, the companies have had their sales reps urge doctors to prescribe antidepressants, antipsychotics and other psychiatric meds to children.
In UK, the figures were pegged at 3,744 including misuse of both legal and illegal drugs.
I sincerely appreciate Medical science, but as one doctor recently told me ‘Jide, unfortunately most times, medicine does not always have the answer. The answer lies in nutrition and avoidance of junk and bad foods’
Remember, if it makes sense but if it doesn’t make dollars, the industry would probably not recommend it
But don’t forget, the body hates chemicals but loves good nutrition.
So get the chemicals out of your body and feed it with good and proper nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
And when you feel a little bit under the weather, try natural before you self medicate and you’ll discover that the body has so much self healing powers
Never forget, you are what you drink too!
