YOU ARE WHAT YOU DRINK TOO! Do you wait until your throat dries up before you take water? Do you wait until you really feel thirsty before you ask for water? According to research, if that regularly happens to you, your body may be constantly dehydrated and deprived of water. So how and when do you really need water? How often should you take water? The answer may have to do with: a) The region you live in – cold, warm or extremely hot b) Exercise – normal, strenuous or none c) Age – older people apparently have a sense of thirst not as sharp as young people Most people get to the point of being faint or extremely weak before they even feel the urge to eat, and in most cases what the body needs is water! Our body they say is about 60% water, which means...

THE KEY MOMENT I have deliberated on this piece for the past two days: should I? Should I not? Actually I watched the first 45 minutes of Chelsea vs Burnley and at the interval; I had to enter a seminar which meant I couldn’t watch the second half of the game. Abound minute 65, I checked for scores and it remained 1-0, and I began to fret for Chelsea: was this Burnley side so defensive that they were being stubborn at the bridge? Was it a hangover from Paris that was clogging the wheels again? I knew whatever the case; this game still had a twist to it and with the Man City game to kick off later, my fear was that Chelsea might just wobble in the dying minutes, allowing Man City the luxury of starting their game only eight points, instead of ten, behind Chelsea....

But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend; you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You’re a shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you,...

SWEET MAY HURT Sometimes eating heathy can be as simple as it is! Eating healthy! Why is it that most people enjoy and love to have food and drinks that are sweet and tasty? Why do most people run away from food and drinks that are very bitter? Is it the ‘initial’ satisfaction which one gives and the thought of ‘discomfort’ that the other brings even before we consume them? What about the lasting benefits of one and the price of pain or illness the other may bring over a long period of time? I remember many years ago while I was dogged with so many injuries and painful rehabilitation (while I was a professional football player) and one of my doctors looked at my breakfast plate and said ; “Jide, if it tastes like saw dust at the...

THE REAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE STARTS As the champions League goes into the 1st knock-out phase tomorrow, one can’t help but notice the buzz being created at the prospect of the mouth watering ties UEFA have put on display. Who will win the big ears in June? CHELSEA – PSG Would PSG or Bayern Munich rue the costs of playing weaker opposition in their respective leagues weekly? Would injuries and perhaps complacency deny Ancelotti and Madrid the honours of the 1st back to back Champions League triumph? Chelsea face PSG and for both teams an opportunity to stake a claim among the giants of European football, whichever one of them sail through to the quarter finals.  Chelsea have so many winners in their camp who know about the big European nights and it’s a...
